Two Year Scheme
SVQ Level 3

 
The Criteria 

• The individual must be registered with the Scottish Building Apprenticeship & Training Council – SBATC
• The individual must be aged 22 years or over
• The individual must be in current employment
• The individual must complete SVQ Level 3 in their chosen craft which is jointly awarded by the SBATC and Scottish Qualifications Authority – SQA
• Please note that Grants may be available from ConstructionSkills for the duration of the apprenticeship
• The Adult Apprenticeship is available in all traditional construction crafts that are currently available to four-year apprentices
• All terms and conditions of the apprenticeship are as per SBATC rules for normal four-year apprentices
• The Adult Apprenticeship has a duration of two years other than the
• The Pay rates are set as follows:    
•  - 1st year – General Building Operative Rate
•  - 2nd Year – 1st 6 months 90% Craft Rate &
•  -  last 6 months 95% Craft Rate

Painting & Decorating Adult Apprenticeship

This is a three-year scheme.  A different rate structure is in place for this training programme and the Scottish Decorators’ Federation should be contacted regarding this.
