The Scottish Building Apprenticeship & Training Council (SBATC) was founded in 1934.
SBATC consists of representatives from Industry, Trade Federations and Trades Unions. The main purpose of the organisation is to regulate and monitor the working conditions, wages, recruitment and training of apprenticeships within the Building Industry throughout Scotland.
During 2012 SBATC indentured 1,299 new start apprentices despite the current economic difficulties being sustained within Industry.

SBATC is inviting the submission of nominations for the 2016 Apprentice of the Year Awards with the deadline for applications being Friday 2 September 2016.
